The terminal construction on the south side was a WPA project. The cost of this was $60.000. This original building was reconstructed several times. The cost of this was $27.000. The baggage claim area was established in the mid-1970s. In 2003, this terminal was expanded once again. CWG Architects was chosen to design the building, and the engineering was done by Helena's Robert Peccia and Associates. This project cost $9.2 million. In 2005 the new expansion was completed. This included an additional passenger boarding space, the second boarding jet bridge, baggage screening behind the ticket counters. However, this terminal can still be expanded. A passenger can be free to arrive and depart from this airport.
